As part of the International Workshop on Traditional Sciences in Asia 2015, the open seminar “Intersecting Cosmologies, beyond Space and Time: The Universe, in Science and the Humanities” will be held on Thursday July 18, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm, at the Center for Informatics in East Asian Studies (Annex of the Institute for Research in Humanities), 2F Conference Room.

Speakers
・Kaifu Norio, professor emeritus at the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, and president of the International Astronomical Union: “Cosmology and the Asian Myths and Legends about the Universe”
・Yano Michio, professor emeritus at Kyoto Sangyo University: “Aspects of Indian Astronomy and Astrology in the Japanese sukuyōdō”

Organized by the Kyoto University’s Institute for Research in Humanities, the Hakubi Center and the Unit of Synergetic Studies for Space.
Language: Japanese.
