近現代中国の制度とモデル

　本研究班は「近現代中国における社会経済制度の再編（2012～2015年度）」班、「転換期中国における社会経済制度」（2016年～2018年度）班を引き継ぐかたちで、中国近現代史研究の立場から制度史研究をさらに進展させていくものである。　
　本研究班では長期の歴史の中で生成し、社会・経済を規定してきた慣習・常識・規範・秩序・行動パターンといったものを「制度」とみなす。本研究班では、実証研究をベースにしつつ、中国近現代の社会・経済変動と中国人・外国人の接触拡大にともなう摩擦のなかで浮かび上がる社会・経済制度をとらえ、そのモデル化を行う。そのモデルを、日本・インド・ヨーロッパなどの他地域のモデルと比較し、中国の制度の特性あるいは他地域との共通性を明らかにする。この作業を通じて、中国近現代史の立場から日本における比較制度史研究を進展させ、研究成果を国内外に発信していくことが本研究班の目的である。

Institutions and models of modern China

This research project to promote institutional history succeeds two earlier projects: Reorganization of Social and Economic Institutions in Modern China (2012-2015) and Social and Economic Institutions in China during the Period of Transition (2015-2019). Institutions are customs, common sense, rules, orders, and behavioral patterns. Based on empirical studies, this project explores the institutions which emerged during the modern period due to social and economic changes and friction between Chinese and foreigners. Using these empirical studies, these institutions are modeled and compared to models from Japan, India, Europe, and other places. The purpose of this comparison is to highlight both what is unique about Chinese institutions and what they hold in common with other areas. From the perspective of modern Chinese history, this project aims to promote comparative historical studies of institutions and to disseminate the project results.
